Prof. (Dr.) Ashutosh Mohanty is an international interdisciplinary professional with 22 years of experience across 18+ countries, specializing in disaster risk management, climate resilience, environmental governance, and sustainable development. His work focuses on integrated and holistic approaches to urban resilience, water resources, emergency response, nature-based solutions, and resilient infrastructure, with emerging applications of AI, green energy, and ESG frameworks. He currently serves as Professor & Director, International Centre of Excellence on Disaster Medicine, Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management at the University of Patanjali, Uttarakhand, and as an Advisor to the World Bank–funded Disaster Risk Management Project with the Government of Maharashtra, India. Dr. Mohanty holds a PhD in Urban Environmental Risk Governance (University of Colorado, USA), an MSc in Urban Environmental Management (Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand), and has completed leadership training at United Nations University, Japan. He has led major international research initiatives, including the CSIRO Australia Pan-India Marine Plastic Pollution Study (2021–22), and has served as Director, faculty, and visiting professor at leading universities in India, Europe, and China.
